I can't speak to issues with service packs, but that's easily Googled and
researched in the past posts in this forum and others.
As to the order, always apply upgrades, service packs and applicable patches
to the front-end server(s) before the back-end servers unless the release
notes tell you otherwise.

running Exchange 2003 sp2, 3 backends 1 front end. All servers are running
windows 2003 sp1, i need to upgrade to 2003 sp2. any issues with regards
