Re: OWA address only works with IP address

For mail.mydomain.com to work, you need a DNS A record that connects that
hostname to the appropriate IP address, or a CNAME record that connects that
name to the hostname of the server. If you're connecting from the Internet,
that record has to be on an Intenret-facing DNS server. If you're
connecting from inside, the record has to be on your inside DNS server, if
you have a split-brain DNS or two zones. If you're connecting from both,
the record has to be on both.

You didn't say https://, so I didn't say anything about certificates; that's
a whole 'nother story.

You mean add a Host (A) record to the local DNS?
Replacing the name of the server? or in addition to?

In order for me to access the OWA I have to enter the http://external
IP/exchange

Shouldn't I be able to enter http://mail.mydomain.com/exchange ?

What can I check or change to fix this?

Thanks,
Ron
