We've recently hit our maximum size of 16GB on our Exchance 2000 Server.
I
was able to successfully run the eseutil program to free enough space to
mount the servers again. However, upon investigation I've noticed a
discrepancy with the sizes. I've spent a good deal of the morning
researching but I can't find the answer to my question. Why does the
priv1.edb and priv1.stm files sum to 16GB but when you do an export of the
mailbox sizes it is over 20GB? Is it due to compaction or compression
within
the mailbox store? I have been trying to establish a mailbox restriction
for
months now but this just helped my cause. However, I'm going to need to
explain this discrepancy when I present my case. Any help will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

It may be due to Single-Instance Storage:
