I have the unfortunate luck to have a totally corrupted partition on a SBS
2003 Std server.
The partition is defined as D:\ drive and held folders such as clientapps,
MS Exchange installation and databases, SBS monitoring and Companyweb.
The partition was totally lost, all existing backups of this partition also
proved to be corrupted.
I have managed to recover local copies of mailboxes to .pst files.
Now I have the task of re-installing the above mention applications into an
otherwise functiong SBS server.
C:\ drive remains intact and functiong, except any relationships to D:\ drive.
E:\ drive and the prized data remain also intact and accessible.
I have managed a partial re-installation, with only a new database required
to be created and munted.
What changes are required to the AD and how do I create and link a new
exchange database to import the .pst files?
Thanks
Cameron
Let's hope you haven't done too much.
The setup.exe /disasterrecovery was all you needed to do, followed by
a full service pack and patch to where you were before.
In that state the stores are dismounted because a restore is expected.
Obviously you won't be doing one so you will need to mount the store
and accept the indications it gives you. Then you can import. I would
suggest you did not import all the mail though since the sum of the
PST files will be far in excess of the original store size and you are
only on a 16 or 75GB capability.
