Hello Customer,
Thank you for posting here.
Mark is correct, the general resolution is add a Front End for the 2
Exchange servers. Then, the FE will redirect the OWA request to the 2 BEs.
We need a third server to hold the Front End.
As we know, the Front End cannot hold mailbox, therefore, you unable to
make one of the 2 Exchange server to FE, except you move all mailboxes to
one Exchange. If that, we do not need to setup FE at all.
I have a workaround for you: publish the OWA on windows 2000 thru another
TCP port.
When you need access OWA from external, you have to publish the OWA from
internal to Internet. We do port forwarding on router before Exchange.
If you need to access OWA from Internet thru http://www.xyz.com/exchange,
you have to forward TCP 80 from router to Exchange. If you had forwarded 80
to windows 2003, you can forward TCP 81 to windows 2000.
Then, we need to make the OWA on windows 2000 to listening on TCP 81.
Please open IIS on Windows 2000 to modify the listening port for the OWA.
Now, we can access OWA on windows 2000 thru http://www.xyz.com/exchange:81.
I hope these steps will give you some help.
Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,
Terence Liu(MSFT)

| Thanks Mark,
