What about reverse dns ? do you get the banner if you wait a very long
time ?



Reverse DNS option is off and even if we wait a long time it just jumps out
telnet (no banner).

The netstat command gives a SMTP "listening" port.
And when the virtual server is stopped the port is free and we get a
different error from the telnet command, so far so good.

The SMTPDIAG tool gives no errors and even DNS is available.
