I am actually trying to whittle down where the problem resides that is
causing connection issues to my Exchange server via Outlook 2k3 (cached
and
non-cached mode depending on user, XP Clients).
The network is switched, VLAN's, core switch routing module at the center
of
the network. One building connects to the network thru a DSL dry loop
using
a BlackBox SDSL Extender with about 1.04 Mb speed between the modems. A
Cisco 2950 sits on each end of the modem to move the data along
(speed/duplex
fixed on each end to match modem speed on Ethernet port). I have been
seeing
CRC, collisions, a few interface resets, other types of errors and dropped
packets but I cannot say how long this has been happening at this point in
the network (this part has been resolved).
I had read an article that suggested that computer accounts can get to a
point where they no longer synch with AD and one can reset the computer
account to correct this issue. This has been done to all PC's at the
building with the DSL dry loop (still having same issue)...so I was
leaning
towards performing something similar on the Exchange server in the event
that
maybe Exchange has somehow gotten out of synch with AD.
I am now leaning heavily toward a hardware issue on this particular model
HP
server. I am getting dropped packets on the NIC's. I have tried both
on-board NIC's and used a 3Com and Intel NIC in the PCI slots but they ALL
drop packets...so I figure I have a bad motherboard or some other type of
hardware issue.
Basically, I did kinda' want to know if it is possible to reset the
Exchange
computer account and if so, how would it be done...
thanks,
Jim

Hi,
Is it possible for the Exchange 2k3 Server account to become out of
synch
with AD as some computer accounts do?
If so, how does one reset the computer account for an Exchange 2k3
server
(sp2).
thanks,
Jim
