what about if we're in mixed mode? We at one time ran in mixed mode when we
migrated from 5.5 to 2003. SInce migrating about two years ago one of the
original 5.5 servers dided. How can I manual remove this orignal 5.5 server.
Also I have another secondary 5.5 server that was used for some purpose a
long time ago that I need to decomminiosh the exchnage portion of it. How
can I do this.
With reagrds to mixed mode vs. native mode. We run in a ixed mode Windows
2000 domain enviroment. Our exchange 2003 server is a member server on a
windows 2003 server. Does my domain need toall windw3os 2003 native in order
to switch the exchange server to nativ emode and what is the benfit or risk
of doing this.

If your organization is in native mode, you can delete all of them except.
one SMTP and one X400 address. Remove them from the recipient policy or
policies, and then from all recipients manually, with a script, or by some
other means. You can force the reapplication of the recipient policy, by
right-clicking it, but be forewarned that it might wreck custom addresses on
some users, so plan carefully.

How do I specify that th epolicy be appled for all recepients so
that
the
SMTP address is changed for everyone not just new users I created
from
today
forward?

You cannot delete the Default policy. When you change the policy
you
must
direct it to be applied to all recipients, or else it only takes

I need to make a couple of changes to my exchange enviroment in
the
easiest
way possible. Our current SMTP setting is @COMPANY.com. I need
to
change
the address to @comapny.com. I then need to changeall the users
addresses to reflect this change. I aslo want to if possible
change
the
users emails addres from the current format of JSmith@xxxxxxxxxxx
to
jsmith@xxxxxxxxxxxx IS this even possible without manualy
editing
every
user. I've edited the SMTP address in the receipient polcy to
change
the
SMTP
address to @company.com. I had two ploicies opne called Company
and
one
called Default. Could I just delete the defualt policy and
consolidate
into
one policy. After modifying the recipeint policy I expected this
change
to
be reflected in all AD users but nothing has changed.
