My question is what is recommended for the san disk Dynamic or Basic?
It is real easy to increase the size of the lun on the san but what is the
best way to have Windows see the increase?

The disks as Windows sees them will have to be basic. Dynamic disks
can't be read by the MS Cluster Service, assuming this is what you are
using.

When the LUN is increased Windows will see Free Space, if I remember
correctly. You can then extend your partition using the DiskPart
utility. This worked for me in my situation. If you do some googling
you should find some additional information on this. I dont think this
procedure will work unless the space is presented to Windows as free
space though, I forget the exact details...............
