Re: Exc 2003 Enterprise - Filtering email sent only to direct address - possible?

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

if you don't have a BES, you should use the Desktop Redirector, rather than
the Desktop Manager...

to selectively forward/not forward email based on certain criteria...

I'm not sure if this is possible but want to see if I can find a
solution to it. The owner of the company I work at just got a new
Blackberry and wants to get his email on it (via IMAP). The problem
is a member of a lot of dist. groups and gets a ton of emails. He
requested that he get only emails on this Blackberry that are
sending
directly to his email address. So for example - o...@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
is the member of many dist groups and he only wants to get emails
sent
directly to o...@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx I was thinking I'd create a second
email address but I somehow have to filter incoming mail and not
sure
if I can. I initially told him it couldn't be done but luckily for
me, other people (who have no clue) told him it could be done.

Has anyone ever run into this or does anyone have any ideas on how
to
accomplish it?

Thanks for any info-

Thanks for the info. He just got the device so we haven't set it up.
I just checked with another user who has a Blackberry using IMAP and
he is getting all his email directly and from dist. groups. Not sure
why? Can you provide a little more about the filtering you
mentioned? Where and how it is configured?

Thanks again-

We aren't using BES but I just discovered the Verizon Desktop software
that was included with the phone. It comes with Desktop Manager so I
will play with that. Thanks for the info - I have virtually no exp
with Balckberry.
