Hi Christina,
Just remember that your SSL certificate name must match your FQDN name.
Example: If your users are to access OWA via
https://companyname.com/exchange then your SSL and FQDN must read
companyname.com.
I was in a similiar situation like yourself where our public website is
www.companyname.com so using companyname.com was not an option fo my SSL or
FQDN. What I did use was registered an FQDN for gocompanyname.com and my SSL
certificate to match.

I am getting ready to purchase a SSL Certificate to allow my mobile users
access to sync/connect with the Exchange 2003 server. I am having trouble
determining how to set the SSL certificate up. Our current web site
http://www.companyname.com is already registered, but of course has
nothing
to do with Exchange. I would like to use a site to the effect of
https://www.companyname.com/exchange or https://exchange.companyname.com.
Is
there a setting in the Exchange server that would allow me to "tell" it
that
this is the correct web site to visit? I don't want to set my SSL
Certificate up incorrectly, and I'm being asked for a web site to order
the
certificate. My firewall is allowing outside users to connect without
issue,
but only through Outlook, with the outside IP address. The outside IP
address has no web site name/domain attached to it at this point, though
we
do own the domain for www.companyname.com. Thanks for any help!
