Exchange 2007 Standard - Edge services?

Hi,
We have a Exchange 2007 Standard server installed on one physical server. I'm a total noob to Exchange and naively assumed that if you installed on one server you got all the subsystems. (I'm sure I'm using the wrong term, but whatever) Specifically I'm now trying to turn on some the the Edge functionality, that of blocking certain mime or file types. Powershell doesn't recognize the commands I'm trying to give it, and I'm begining to believe that we don't have the Edge subsystem installed at all. Is it easy to turn on Edge functionality or install the Edge subsystem?
