Verify that the message is really being sent plain text. You can force that
policy by domain on the Exchange 2007 server.
Check the content of the message to see what the body part type is that's
not being accepted.
It's a bit strange that you'd get a 5xx level error about a body part
though. Is the other end using any sort of anti-spam/anti-virus filtering
that might come into play?
Exchange 5.5? The problem with >10 year old mail systems is not only the
lack of vendor support and the lack of support for updated standards, but
the lack of people around who remember all the tricks.

We have an Exchange 2007 user sending a normal text email to mail enabled
AD
accounts (AD acct is here..but email address is for an off-network to an
Exchange 5.5 server)..and we get this:
The message contains a content type that is not supported
<bridgehead.domain.com #5.6.1 smtp;554 5.6.1 Body type not
supported by Remote Host>
What do I need to change to allow this to go thru? Thanks. Steve
