The granularity allowed is at the server level, using the -RemoteDocumentsAllowedServers and -RemoteDocumentsBlockedServers switches with the set-OwaVirtualDirectory command:

Not sure if there are any workarounds to apply per-share access controls for remote document access - being able to specify UNC shares would be nice.

Hi all,
One of the new features of 2007 that we were really keen to implement was
the ability for users to access their home directories via the web. However,
it turns out that there is very little control in terms of restricting
acccess to only specific file shares on a server? Let me explain properly...
We have all our file shares(staff home dirs, student home dirs, corporate
data, class materials) on a single file server. We only want to allow access
to the staff home dirs via the web, but everything I've tried so far,
including denying access to the mail server at both NTFS and share level
permissions fails to work.
I imagine there are many others in a similar boat to us, who need more
control. Does anyone know whether the ability to select specific fileshares
might be a feature that will creep in to SP1, or if there are any hacks(ugly
or elegant) which will let me acheive what I want?
Thanks!
Jonathan
