We want to use our Exchange 2003 server as a backup for a customer.
If their Exchange server is unavailable (primary MX), mail should arrive at
our Exchange server and store there till the other one is available again.
Bad Idea. Whats really going to happen is that all the spammers are
going to send all their crap to your server and then you are going to
be responsible for dealing with it and routing back to the customer.
.
Their DNS has been changed so that their primary MX (priority 10) points to
their server and the second (priority 20) points to ours.
What do I set on our Exchange? In Recipient Policies, I have added them,
and for their SMTP I have NOT ticked "This Exchange organization is
responsible for all mail delivered to this address" Should I tick this?
Under Routing Groups, I made a connector, and told it to "Forward all mail
through this connector to the following smart hosts" and I've put their
server in there.
Do I add our server under Local bridgehead? On the Address Space tab, do I
tick "Allow messages to be relayed to these domains"?
Thanks, Neal.
