I tried to set up the user account on another PC but the result is the
same: I can view only older mails. So I don't think that the cause is
lack of connection.
So I'm for the second theory: but what is the OST? How can I recover
the archive?
The OST is the offline cache used by cached mode. It is a file on the
user's machine. If the same problem happens on two machines, it's
likely a message received shortly after the new messages stop which is
causing an issue. Move/delete the 10-5 most recent messages received
after the updates stopped and then create a new OST file and sync
again.
