Re: DST Update ??

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

- Not sure why that would happen, unless the mailbox MAPI properties and/or
recurring meetings are in fact saying those users are Central time.
- You're fine in terms of patches - the server OS and the OS on the computer
that you're running the tool form have their DST 2007 tz update KB 931836
applied.
- If you're certain all those users should be in Easter time zone, you can
manually change it in the input file.
- Alternatively, you can contact PSS. Afaik, support for DST 2007 issues is
at no cost.
- MS is running all-day chats which provide a good front-line support, imo:

I am getting some very weird happenings actually...

1. All but one user listed in mailboxes_1.txt is listed as
Central...the other is listed as Eastern

2. A LOT of users are listed in nonexistent.txt but I understand this
can happen if they don't have appointments which is a possibility for a
lot of these users since they are mainly on the phones all day.

3. One user for sure is not listed in ANY of the txt files.

4. I have two users listed over there as conflicting TZ. (CST and EST)

By the way Bharat...thanks for the blog...that really helps clear a lot up
and made this process somewhat simple (well as simple as it can be I
think!).

Is everybody's time zone Central?
The tool picks up the mailbox time zones from the following: 1) Recurring
meetings. If not determined, it looks at MAPI properties on the mailbox
for: 2) Outlook time zone 3) OWA time zone 4) CDO time zone. If these
conflict, the user will be logged in the conflict log.

Is everyone having fun in their personal DST hell?

Question...

I am getting ready to run the exchange calendar update tool on one of
our offices in Michigan however when I do that and look at the mailbox
list before actually running the tool it shows everyone's mailbox
timezone as Central (which is where I am) I am running the tool from a
VMWare image with the internal TZ set to Eastern.

I have not applied any of the patches to the server yet other than the
OS patch. Is that my problem?

Ryan
