If the purpose of the move is to decommission the old volume, please be
aware that the edb and stm files may not be the only components on the
volume:
1. What is the system path?
2. Where is the working directory?
3. If you have enabled content indexing, where are the MSSearch service
gatherer logs?
4. Where is the MTA Data directory?
5. Where is the MTA Run directory?
6. If you have enabled message tracking, where are your tracking logs?
Typically, all of these things default to the first database drive.
1. The system path is the location of the checkpoint (.chk) file for the
transaction logs and .tmp files. If the checkpoint file is missing, you'll
have to do a soft repair at a minimum.
2. The working directory is where content conversion takes place. If the
path is invalid, messages with attachments will queue for local delivery and
you'll get an event 327 with an ecsetfilehandleprop error.
3. If the gatherer logs are missiong or corrupt, the search servoice won't
start.
4.. If you're using the MTA, and the MTA directories are invalid, messages
may queue and delivery fail.
5. ""
6. If you do not have access to the message tracking logs, you can;t track
messages.

It's a good idea to mention Exchange versions when posting such questions.
Exchange System Manager | Mailbox Store properties | Database tab | change
path for both EDB & STM files.
The Store will be dismounted, files moved, and Store's mounted again.

I need to move the edb and stm files to a different partition, how do I
accomplish that? What issues can I expect?
