Re: Reporting on NDRs

I was looking for those using log parser. Unfortunatly Exchange is accepting
all incoming messages and then processing them. All I get are 250 events
indicating that the message was accepted.
Is there any way to force my bridgehead servers to look up the address
before accepting the message?
Thanks

You would be looking for SMTP events with a 550 error in the status column..
I'm not sure if that is helpful or not.

Thanks for your reply.
The volume of NDRs would quickly overwhelm a single mailbox. Thats part
of
the problem that Im trying to solve.
I have logging turned on but didn't have much success with the log files.
Ill keep at it, I may have to use logparser to to deal with the log files.
thanks

On the SMTP virtual server, you could specify that the NDRs are forwarded
to
a specific mailbox, and then you could look at that mailbox. If you are
good with manipulating text files, enable SMTP protocol logging on the
SMTP
virtual server that accepts mail. Then you could pull that information
from
the protocol log.

I would like to create a report of all the incoming messages that
resulted
in
an NDR and what the intended recipient's address was. Does anyone know
a
good way to do this? We are running Exchange 2003 SP2 if it matters.
Thanks
