I'd be happy to look at it if you posted your e-mail domain name.

Yes, the name is the same for both inside and outside the LAN, and it's
the
same name on the MX record on my ISP's DNS server.
When I do a telnet to say port 80, it works.

Are you using the correct host name from the Internet, i.e., the one
specified in your Internet DNS A record that's referred to in the MX
record?
The external host name need not be the same as the internal host name.

Hmm... I tried to do a telnet servername 25 from within my LAN and I'm
able
to communicate with my mail server. But when I try to do the same thing
from
the Internet, I get a connect fail. But I don't really know why?
Wouldn't the port need to be open for my mail server to be able to
receive
Internet emails (which is transfered using SMTP). DNS MX record for my
domain
points to this mail server and we are receiving emails.
But yes, right now my Relay Restrictions have "All except the list
below"
checked (list is empty).

Sorry... my mistake. I simply enabled message relaying and it works
now.
Let's hope you don't mean that you'll let /anyone/ use your machine as
a SMTP relay!
