Also, these users need to communicate with some users on the other routing
group, not necessarily using the DL's...

Thanks for help !!!

Thanks, Exchange 2007 way is nice, but not there yet...
As for option 1, I agree, it's a nightmare, but option 2, how would you be
able to use some distribution groups if some users from those distribution
groups are across the other Routing group.

Isn't there a 3rd party product to do this ?, client is willing to pay for
it !!!

Thanks !!!

3 options for isolating users:
- Recipient properties | Exchange General tab| Delivery Restrictions |
Message Restrictions | Accept Messages -> Only from: - populate names of
users/groups users can send to/receive from. Not pretty, management
nightmare.
- Isolate users in their own Routing Group (will require a separate
server) with no Connectors to other Routing Group(s) or the internet.
Cost of additional server.
- Wait for Exchange Server 2007: can easily implement this using Exchange
Server 2007's Transport Rules.

Got a particular situation with a manufacturing client, with 1 Exchange
2003 SP2 Ent Back-end server.

Because of a company rule, they want to isolate a group of users ( 50 in
an org of 500 ) so these users can only send between themselves and
certain distribution group.

These 50 users are on a separated Store on the server that has all 500
users.

Does anyone know of any documentation or articles from Microsoft on how
to do this ?

Is there maybe a 3rd party tool that runs on Exchange 2003 to do this
???

Thanks !!!
