Old message keeps resending - not in queue

We have an Exchange 2003 sp2 setup here and one user keeps getting a copy of
a message he received from another user here almost 2 weeks ago, and keeps
getting the message at 1 hour intervals. The original message has been
completely deleted from the senders Sent folder in Outlook, and it never
appears in the queue.
The odd thing is that the Recieved From field is displaying an address that
looks like X-400 instead of the sender's regular email address, like this:
/O=CSW/OU=PRODUCTION/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=ALC where it normally would be showing
username@xxxxxxxxxx
We don't have any X-400 connectors configured, (though Exchange is
automatically creating X-400 addresses for users).
How can I stop this repeated delivery and prevent it from happening again?
What caused it in the first place?
Thanks for any suggestions.
John
