Re: Exchange SP2 Mailbox Size 18GB ?

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Is there a way to paste an image to this reply? I would show you a snapshot
of my registry.

I actually cut /pasted the line item out of a technote to make sure it was
spelled correctly. As I stated, I only have one IS Store so I do not have
that variable.

Thanks for the feedback!

I followed the directions to change the limit so it is greater than 18GB.
They appear to be straight forward. However, I still get an event code
9685.
A warning about the 18GB limit. I have set it for a limit of 30GB. I
have
rebooted the server and I have stop/started the IS Store? Any reason why
it
may not be resetting the limit size? I only have one IS Store. I have
added the limit to both Private & Public.

Thanks for any feedback!

I upgraded to SP2 this weekend, and looking thru my event logs, upon a
reboot
(for a different reason) I got
The Exchange store 'First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (xxxxx)' is
limited to
18 GB. The current physical size of this database (the .edb file and the
.stm
file) is 13 GB. If the physical size of this database minus its logical
free
space exceeds the limit of 18 GB, the database will be dismounted on a
regular basis.

What happened to the 75GB? that service pack 2 was supposed to give us?
Anybody else see this on their servers?

Yes, pretty much everyone that didn't read the README file. ;-)

Increase in Database Size Limit
For the Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition, the hard-coded
licensing database size limit has been increased from 16 GB to 75 GB.
The administrator will be able to set a protective database size limit
(prevent unintentional database size growth). The default value will
be 18 GB in SP2 for Standard Edition and the default of 18 GB can be
overwritten by editing the "Database Size Limit in GB" registry key.
