It sounds like a smarthost may be configured on one or both of the smtp
virtual servers. Exbpa will find it. www.exbpa.com

Two exchange 2003 servers in the same AD, E1 and E2.
All mail for DOMAIN.COM comes into E1.
All the mailboxes on E1 can send out email just fine.
All the mailboxes on E2 can send out email just fine, using their Internet
link.
But, anybody sending information between themselves (in DOMAIN.COM) just
doesn't work - it just queues.
Of course, People on E2 must wait until E1 forwards the incoming external
email - this is only happening when I force the link.
Whats a happenin?
