This hotfix should be installed and you can do it any time. If you try to
run the exchange best practices analyzer this tool will also advice that you
need to install the hotfix.

I have a single Exchange server with SP2 applied.
While researching the installation of IMF, I read that kb898060 must be
installed prior to SP2. This was not done. What issues, if any can I
expect
as a result?
Does anyone know of any problems in this scenario?
Can kb898060 be ignored if everything is running OK at this time?
Can this hotfix be installed post SP2?
