Yeah...what OS is the receiving group running?
There have been instances of problems with ESMTP talking to other mail
servers. One way to test this would be to disable ESMTP, and just use SMTP
and see if that helps...

Yeah, that went through our heads too. We have the latest drivers from HP
on that server dated March 9, 2006.
I think I'm going to recommend dissolving the Team, disable one of the
NICs,
and only use the remaining one for connectivity to test. Then switch the
NICs and see how that goes. If both still fail SMTP, we should focus more
on
Exchange; if SMTP works fine, we need to look more at the Team causing the
problem, and its role in the SMTP queue/smart host relationship.

I have seen some weird stuff resolve by updating NIC drivers...
