Thanks for the info on permissions on users. While I am waiting on that log
to runs some, i have another question. Seems when I open the system manager
and go to the mailbox store, if I right click on a users mailbox, I get this
error: the server is not operational. Facility: Win32 ID no: 8007203a
Exchange System Manager.
8007203a = Server Not Operational (meaning the LDAP query failed).
We did have some problems with our DNS server a while back. The dns entries
had to all be re-created. I made sure our exch record was done, on exch I did
a ipconfig/flushdns. You can ping our exch server by name, but also in the
event log i am getting several errors:
DNSAPI error #11162
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/mom/mom2000/maintain/admptech/admptr05.mspx
"A DNS server used by this server for name resolution did not respond
within the timeout interval"
You need to fix this, but it's not an Exchange problem. You'd get
better answers in one of the Windows AD groups.
[ snip ]
I tried to manually register this but it continues to fail. I am not sure if
this is related or not.
Indirectly, perhaps. If you're missing information in DNS the SRV
records for locating the ldap and gc services (amongst others) may
also be missing.
