Your are pretty limited when using monitoring in the ESM. I would set the
server alerts to critical as you have and connector monitoring to a down state.
For more granular performance monitoring, I would look in to something like
MOM. Then you could monitor a much wider range of variables.

I need your expertise. What kind of performance monitors do you set on
exchange 2003 servers? I only set send email notification tome if they are
in critical state in the monitoring and status.
