This would be expected if the store is dismounted.

This may be a stupid question, but I get the following error message whenever
and ONLY when I dismount the databases and run IsInteg:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeSA
Event Category: MAPI Session
Event ID: 9175
Date: 10/1/2006
Time: 9:27:01 PM
User: N/A
Computer: WV1-SEXCH01
Description:
The MAPI call 'OpenMsgStore' failed with the following error:
The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed.
The MAPI provider failed. Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store
ID no: 8004011d-0512-00000000
This is a new Win2k3 server with E2k3. I migrated from a Win2k Adv/E2k Adv
server which, admittedly, had some problems. I worked with MSTech and was
pretty thorough with prep and migration. I have never seen these errors on
any E2k machines when I dismounted the DB's for IsInteg.
The old E2k intermittently prevented messages from being opened. Outlook
threw an error "Can't open item. Unknown error." It turned out to be
something whacked related to Symantec Mail Security. In troubleshooting THAT
problem, I was periodically running IsInteg. That's why I was working with
MSTech support.
I found one article that explains that the SA tries to hold open MAPI
connections to the DB's. This seemed to be relevant The other articles point
to bad DNS, bad DC/GC connectivity, etc. I'm 99.999% sure that none of those
conditions apply. My DCDiag and NetDiag were clean prior to E2k3 install.
There's great connectivity: E2k3 and DC's/GC's are on the same Gbit
switch/vlan.
Can anyone explain why I might be getting these 9175 errors? Is this normal
for E2k3 when dismounting the DB's for maintenance?
