Re: Outlook unable to connect to the incoming server POP3(exchange2k3)

Your logon information should be in the format:

DOMAIN\Mailbox_Alias\User_ID

If the User_ID (SAM account name) is the same as the Mailbox_Alias, then all
that is necessary is DOMAIN\Mailbox_Alias.

If you're using a non-Microsoft client, the backslashes might cause a
problem. You may use forward slashes instead.

I am trying to connect outlook at my work to my exchange server at
home. OWA works great and also sending emails through outlook works,
but I can not retrieve emails from exchange using the outlook client.
Here are some of the variables:

Exchange Server at home:
Firewall Sonicwall: Pop3 on port 110 opened
Exchange was setup with default settings...in other words there have
been no special configurations

At work:
I added a new email account
Server Type: POP3 (I tried the exchange option through the control
panel, but that did not work)
My Incoming mail server: mail.myserver.com
My outgoing mail server: mail.myserver.com

I made sure pop was going on port 110 "more settings"
When I test the account settings it gives the following:
Establish network connection: Completed
Find outgoing mail server (SMTP): Completed
Find incoming mail server (POP3): Completed
Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Failed
Send test email message: Completed

Errors:
Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Unable to connect to the incoming
mail server POP3.

With this info I thought I might re-enter my logon information to
elimante mistyping or sytnax like username@xxxxxxxxxxxx vs
myserver.com/username vs just username. This obviously did not fix the
problem.

This is probably an easy solution that is escaping my eyes. Any help
in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.
