Thanks Ed Crowley,

for yours time and relpy with this issue. I appreciate that

I understand your's point. Right now situation is that after maintanace run
on everynight, database corrruption error is gone. Exchange is running as
before. But i want to know the process how and when those logs file are going
to purged and my .edb is up-to-date. is their other way so that i can confirm
that my databse is in normal state with no error. so that i can dismount it
and mount it without any problem.

Thanks again, i am wait response from you.

If you have a corrupt database, the best way to clean it up is to create a
new database and move all the mailboxes to it. That's a problem if you're
running standard edition or SBS, because that means bringing up a new
server.

You needn't really worry about a corrupt database. They're fairly rare
unless you have something (such as a file-level anti-virus product)
mucking
about with the .edb file.

A corrupt database will generally not mount. If this happens, my
recommendation is to call Microsoft Product Support Services (well worth
the
+/- $300) and have them help you.

Best,
Missy

Thanks Paul, for this useful information specially for circullar
logging.
I have one more question for you.
If we dismount our store and suppose our database or store is corrupt
when
we dismount it , will we what happen at that time and if we dont have
any
good back, what is the best solution in this situation.

Do we again mount corrupt database...

Thanks again for yours time and information

The transaction log files are a record of the transactions that have
taken
place on the Microsoft Exchange server, they are only read from when
the
is
restarted after it was not cleanly shut down or as part of a disaster
recovery.

The best and recommended way to delete the log files is to perform a
full
online Exchange aware backup of the Microsoft Exchange server using an
Exchange Aware backup program and the backup program will remove the
log
files once they have been successfully backed up. They should never be
manually deleted !!

You should never turn on circular logging on a mailbox server as this
will
stop you being able to recover to the point of failure, you will only
be
able to recover up to the last backup point. It should only be enabled
on
bridgehead servers where there are no mailboxes and the messages are
simply
in transit, through the server.
