Re: Rebuilding a Server

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Build a new domain controller. Make it a GC. Transfer the FSMO roles.
Remove the old domain controller.

For Exchange, this method is the least risky and requires the least amount
of downtime, pressure, and weekend and after-hours work:

I would like to rebuild our Domain Controller & Exchange Server in an
attempt
to clean up many different issues left from the previous Network
Administrator. I was wondering if anyone had a solution that would allow
me
to perform this without backing up both servers and just restoring them.

I would like to rebuild the Domain Controller, rebuild the Exchange
Server,
and then restore the Exchange Server's messages and tie them to the new
Active Directory.

Thanks for your help in advance!
