Here is a portion of my post 09/19/06. Sorry I did not make myself clearer:

So just to confirm, I have to go to a workstation and create a new e-mail
mail profile in order to correct Exchange errors on my server that seemed to
relate to a permissions issue accessing the Public Folders in ESM?

All I want to do is delete the orphan address list on the system folders
under Public Folders when I am in ESM.

You never specified that this was a domain controller. The reason why you
dont have the mail icon is that you dont have Outlook installed and DO NOT
install it on the domain controller. You can run MFCMapi run a client
machine that does have the capability to create a profile.

Dave, this is a Domain Controller. Why would the mail icon be in
Control Panel?

I log on to the server as administrator and it seems to me it does not
like my credentials because of " IpPublicMDBNonAdmin"

Also, part of the error is "File

F:\ is the CD-ROM, not a drive.

Yes.

1. Open your Control Panel
2. Selete the Mail icon
3. Select Show Profiles
4. Select Add and give the profile a new name
5. Select Microsoft Exchange and enter your Exchange Server name and
User Name.

NOTE: Make sure that you uncheck "Use Cached Exchange Mode". This is
important as we want the store table to be read. If you have an Cached
Mode profile we have no need to read this information and this is why
you failed before.

Then you can follow the blog and use this profile when you are in
MFCMapi.

To create an online profile, do you mean Profiles - Action - Create a
Profile ?
Do I then use that profile when following the instructions on the blog?

I was able to reproduce this issue by using a Cached profile.

1. Configure an online profile
2. Follow the same steps to logon as the blog.
3. Navigate down to the Public Root/NON_IPM_SUBTREE/OFFLINE ADDRESS
BOOK/
4. Highlight /o=yourorg/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=youroal. Right click
and select 'Hard Delete'

There is only one administrator password for the domain which
includes everything on the server. The administrator password has
changed each time a different IT person has taken over.

Address Lists reside in two places:

1. The active directory under the address list container
2. In the information store.

Generally when you remove the address list from the active directory
it will get removed from the information store when the information
store maintenance schedule kicks in.

I would turn up diagnostic logging for online maintenance and see if
you are having any problems there first!!!, as this can indicate
that things are not working as expected. If you really need to
delete it using means that are not normal (I.E. Exchange working as
it should) you can follow this blog I wrote and instead delete the
root folder (the address list in question).

I urge you to try to troubleshoot this first by using diagnostic
logging and see why the store is not removing it as expected.

I am trying to clean up some Offline Address Book errors that pop up
in my event viewer like ID 9331 for example.

In ESM, if I view System Folders (inside Public Folders) and expand
the Offline Address Book folder, there is an orphan address list in
there I can't delete.

When I try to delete it, a password box pops up for
domain\administrator and I enter the password. After entering the
password Windos throws me an error box.

The list in questions shows that it is connected to the server as
is the Deafalt Offline Address list. Any ideas how to get rid of
this? I tried to locate it with ADSIEDIT but could not find it.
