Re: Setting Size limits in Exchange

That should work - wouldn't you want to setup mailbox quotas on the Store
instead? This will apply to all users on the Store. You can then configure
individual limits on the user account for folks who need higher/lower
limits.

In multiple Store/multiple Server environments, you can also use a System
Policy.

It's a good idea to simply setup the warning only (initially) to find out
how it works.

Hi,

We are running Exchange 2003 Enterprise SP2 and at this time we have no
limits on mailbox sizes. As the mailboxes started to grow it was decided
that we should start adding limits to some users as they seem to go way
out there in there sizes. I wanted to verify if I am doing this
correctly.

In setting up size limits, I have a user that has 1,999,856KB (almost 2GB)
in size and I want to set a size restriction on there folder.

I would go into Users and domains and click on the user account. Under
the user account I would find the tab Exchange General and then click on
Storage limits.

I would uncheck the option that says use default setting and then put a
check in front of Warning. I then put in 900000 so if I understand this
correctly she should get a warning. In the stop send I would put 950000.
When things are setup right I will put in 1000000 (which would be 1GB of
space) in the stop and send. These are all in KB.

From what I have seen in the group it will take about two hours for the
rule to kick in unless I stop and start the Exchange Service. Is this
correct?

So far I just did warning nothing else. As I want to see how it works.
Is there anything else that I should know about as I am setting this up?

Thanks
Adam Raff
