I have tried with ADSIedit as you told. There i saw 3 objects:
1. Domain controller
2. Configuration
3. Schema
Those are three naming contexts, or partitions, in the AD. You're
interested in the Configuration naming context.
The RUS all live here in the hierarchy:
<domain><tld
Configuration
Services
Microsoft Exchange
<org>
Address Lists Container
Recipient Update Services
RUS (Domain)
RUS (Enterprise)
These all 3 objects pointed to the domain controller.
Well, they're each a part of the AD. That's expected. :)
But in ESM i saw 2 objects
That's expected, too. You'll see a domain RUS and an Enterprise RUS in
the ESM.
The also pointed to the domain controller.
In this case, the RUS uses that DC as the means to locate the objects
in the AD that are new or changed.
What does it mean?
So far, not much. What you're seeing is what you'd expect to see.
