Re: One users mail is stuck in SMTP "local delivery" queue

Susan
I have set up loggin on Smtp and there seems to be nothing highlighted that
shows an error of any kind.
The problem has just started happening to another board member's email
account. I can see the email piling up in the queue. I have set up a
forward for both accounts and the emails are arriving at the forwarded email
account.

I just have no experience with where to look now !! and of course taking
some heat !!

Any things I could do and post details here ?

is there nothing in your application log? you might want to crank up smtp
logging to see if it yields any information...an issue such as this can be
difficult to resolve...

THanks for replying. Basically the userid has not changed and has been
running for over a year. It is the managing directors email and it is the
only one that is not receiving SMTP mail. Everyone else receives mail no
problem. The MD can send mail out but all mail sent to her is queuing in
the
local delivery queue. So far there are 290 mails in the queue.
I have increased maximum queue because of this and need to find a
resolution.

I have also set up copy emails to another account and these emails get
through without error to the copied email account. This eliminates the
emails
being wrong or in error some how.

Anyone any Ideas.....it is getting desperate.

so everything emailed to this user is getting stuck in queue, now? does
anything get through? all users on the same server?

Anyone any ideas as to why just one user out of 8 would have their
mail
stuck
in the local delivery queue, when everyone else receives mail without
a
problem ?

As far as I know there were no changes at the users desktop and there
were
definitely no changes at the server end. The user received a mail at
15:13
and then nothing. There are 56 emails queued for them in the SMTP
queue.
No-one else has any email queued.

Help greatly received as I cannot see any reason for it.

Regards

Ian
