Re: No luck with rpc over https

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

ok, got certificate error fixed. Guess what, I got https to work while
connected on my LAN....

BUT, I can't get it to connect over the internet from my home? when I go
through same steps, outlook /rpcdiag, it shows it trying to use tcp/ip and
https, both fail and it says DISCONNECTED ?

here is what I get:

The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a
different website's address.

so I guess, the local I created is no good?

Does your laptop trust certificates issued by the local certificate
server? Try to connect to the /rpc URL using Internet Explorer. Do you
get a IE warning telling you the certificate is untrusted?

ok, I've gone through every article everyone has posted on "rpc over
https", but still can't get it to work.

Here is my setup:
Have (1) exchange 2003 sp2 server, with no front-end or rpc-proxy
server. so I have set it up to do all, using locally made certificate,
until I can verify that it will work.
Have (1) DC which is a GC, win2003 sp1 box.
Everything goes through Checkpoint fw.
Setup my test laptop, using outlook 2003.

I can not get connected remotely using all the settings and when I check
status of connection everything is TCP/IP.

I have gone through everything in articles, set reg changes on exch box
and GC box, restarted gc, still nothing. I can see the connection in my
firewall logs, going through the fw with https and the correct server
name. but that is it, nothing else, it just tries and tries and then
outlook says disconnected?

anybody have any ideas? I've gone through every troubleshooting step.

AL
