Procedure to deploy multiple backend exchnage 2003 servers

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi,

We had an MS EXCHANGE with MS CLUSTER with two nodes and was working
fine.

We uninstalled exchange from the second & last node to remove it from
the cluster and evicted it from the cluster successfully. Then the
single node cluster is working fine without any error and problem.

Now we are trying to add a second server to the existing exchange setup
as a standalone server but not as a part of the cluster. Installation
went off well and we can see the new server and its properties in the
exchange system manager.

We have added the new server to the Recipient Update service and
rebuilded it along with the existing server.
Also we have added the new server for replication in OFFLINE ADDRESS
BOOK and its child components in the public folders and left it for
overnight for complete synchronization.

The details of the existing cluster node and the newly added are as
below.
Windows 2003 with SP1 and the latest patches
MS Exchange 2003 with SP1

The existing server is working fine.

We are facing two problems with the newly added exchange server.
We have created two new users in the newly added exchange server and
moved one from the existing one to the newly added server.

When we configure outlook client with the user in the new server,
sending and receiving mails, there is no problem, but when we click on
the send/receive button, it is displaying the error message. "Task
Microsoft Exchange server reported error (0x8004010F). The operation
failed. An object could not be found."

The OWA for the user in the new server - URL with the server name (
http://servername/exchange) working fine and also with the IP ADDRESS (
http://xx.xx.xx.xx/exchange) working fine.

But when we try to access OWA through front end server (
http://mail.hostname.domainname/exchange) it is giving the error
"HTTP/1.1 401 unauthorized"

With the existing single node exchange cluster there is no problem for
the above requirements.

We would like to request you to please suggest us what could be the
problem and the solution for the same.
