Front-end acting as proxy to 2 backend servers

Hi,

I have 1 exchange 2k BE and one exchange 2k3 BE server. I want to add a
3rd exchange 2k3 as a front end server in order to migrate the
mailboxes from e2k BE to e2k3 BE.

I don't want to have users change any settings in their Outlook
Profiles, do I have to use my FE as a bridgehead server or can I just
click on "this is a front end server" and during the moving of
mailboxes Outlook will automatically find the server the user's mailbox
is sitting in?

THANKS.

.
