I have 4 domain names that we control with a single installation of Exchange
2003 SP2.

What I would like to do is have Exchange appear to the internet as being
avaiable on all 4 domains simultaneously. Let me describe.

When a user from domain1.com sends an email from Outlook 2003, and
domain1.com is their only SMTP address, we want those email headers to show
the email came from mail.domain1.com.

When another user from domain2.com sends an email from Outlook 2003, and
domain2.com is their only SMTP address, we want those email headers to show
the email came from mail.domain2.com.

Currently, Exchange is sending out all email as mail.domain1.com, and I can
find no way that is obvious to make the other 3 domains appear in this
fashion.

Please keep in mind that I do have Recepient Policies configured, so all
users show the proper SMTP address in Active Directory, so that is not the
issue that I am talking about. I am concerned with the 'behind-the-scenes'
part regarding the email headers, and how Exchange presents itself to the
internet.

Thanks so much!

To use the 4 VSI's, it has to be achieved by connectors. That doesn't
address the issue of the banner.
So, what needs to be understood is exactly why you want this to happen
because there are millions of domains that send mail using SMTP
servers that aren't their own domain names.
