The other day I had to move a datastore over to another storage group
with more space since I had ran out of space and the store wouldnt
mount. I did so by moving mailboxes from the old group to the other
which had more space. I then made a copy of the database files and put
them on a drive with enough space as a backup and then I deleted the
original db files off of the storage group that was running out of
space. This was the easiest and quickest way I could think of to get my
store back up and running. When we were moving over mailboxes
apparently some did not move to the new storage group and I am trying
to create a recovery storage group and use the stm and edb files that I
had copied over to a new drive to attempt to get the mailboxes back.
When I create a RSG and point to the copied files I see no stores in
it. What am I doing wrong???? Thanks.
After you create the RSG, you add the database you want to restore.
Then copy the files into the RSG directory and attempt to mount. Are
those files in a clean shutdown?
