Hi,
In Exchange system manager try to rightclick the recipient update service
and select to rebuild.
Then perform a sync from the client - does this work?
Any exchange related events logged in the application log?

The clients are using Outlook 2003. I'm not sure if they are in cached
mode
or not. The new user was added on Friday (6/23) and I checked things out
again on Saturday (6/24). The GAL had not changed. I've also bounced the
server multiple times trying to force a sync.

Hi,
If the clients are using Outlook 2003 in cached mode they are using the
offline address list as their GAL. This list is rebuilt once every night
by
default so it should be rebuilt by now.
Can you still not see the user in the gal?

I'm new to Windows Server 2003. Can you give me some basic pointers on
how
to sync the Active Directory.
Thanks!

I have Windows Server 2003 Small Business Server (standard edition)
and
Office 2003. A new user I added earlier today is not showing up in
the
GAL
of all the existing users. It's been several hours and I've also
bounced
the
server. The strange thing is the new user does show up in two of
the
existing users, but not all. The two users that work are generic
users
that
I set up that have an Exchange email account, but no POP3 email
accounts.
The users that don't show the new user in the GAL all have POP3
accounts. I am not using Exchange Server for my mail server. I'm
using
POP3
email accounts. Has anyone run into this before? How do I update
the
GAL
for my new user?
Vince,
your your RUS and sync your active directory, hope this helps.
