I'm guessing so, I really wasn't the one to set it up actually, they
just sort of handed it to me, but that's seems right.
I suggest you get your hands on this workstation so you can see for sure.

The workstation is running windows XP and outlook 2003. You are
correct I suppose it's not popped per se, it's setup as an exchange
account, so they manage their mail from their machine and not from
the server sort of thing, through Outlook 2003. And yes I can open
the mail box, but the mailbox on the workstation is only showing the
184 while the ESM on the server is display 508 items. Hope that
clears up any confusion.
OK - so this is Outlook 2003, via a MAPI connection, using cached
mode?

Ok, I am new to this sort of thing, but we have an exchange server
(2003) which currently stores all of our company email. It's a
small company consisteing of about 8 people and it's not goignt o
grow. Anywho, one of the machines that gets mail from the
exchange server went down and I had to reinstall the OS, no
biggie because the mail is stored on the exchange server..., well
when I tried to set the account back up using Outlook, not all of
the mail is popping back down. If I go on the exchange server,
the users mailbox has 508 items in it, but on his machine it's
only showing 184 items????? How did that happen? And how do I put
his mail back??? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!
What's the workstation/client running for mail?
Can you open its mailbox in OWA?
Why are you using POP?
