Re: How to create a subdomain email address in Exchange 2003

Thanks Ben. I manage to solve my problem, with microsoft expert people help.
It's turn out to be some people keyin an invalid DNS ip address. That cause
the server can not receive email from internet and bounds back with message
"connection refused by dc.mycompany.com"

A thounsand thanks from you all.

I post with my real e-mail address (just look at the properties of the
message) - you just need to take out the nospam and dot portions. However,
if you e-mail me, any responses will be posted back here to the newsgroup.

As a side note (not directed at you completely), I really don't see why
there is often a need to munge, obfuscate, or otherwise remove domain names.
The folks in here aren't people that you need to be worried about, and doing
such only serves to complicate troubleshooting, frustrate those of us trying
to help, and increase the amount of time it takes to find the
problem/solution.

Can you please post the real domain/subdomain name? I'd like to see the
results of the test and where exactly it fails. Without seeing the
results,
it's impossible to say what is wrong.

Yes. I have done it. The result came back is the dns domain for
sales.mycompany.com is fail, but the mail test for
tester01@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx came back successfully.

i even try to send a mail from hotmail to tester01@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
the
return error msg is:

Deferred: Connection refused by dc.mycompany.com

Is this have anything to do the subdomain smtp configuration. If yes,
how
can i configure it?

Thanks. I have follow your instruction and create the subdomain
name
in
DNS
and recipient policies. It work fine in internal network. But
when i
try
to
send mail from outside (e.g. gmail or yahoo mail) , it fail.
However,
send
the mail from yahoo to my main domain name is successful

here are the sample.
mail in internal
to : user2@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
from : user3@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
send and receive is successful.

however
mail from yahoo
to : user2@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
from : xxxx@xxxxxxxxx
send and receive is fail.

but
when i send the mail only with
mail from yahoo
to : user2@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
from : xxxx@xxxxxxxxx
send and receive is successful.

For example,
user1@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
user2@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
user3@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If can, please tell me how can i setup. Thanks.
