OK, the logs will only be purged when performing an online full backup of
the entire storage group...is that what you did?

Hi,The
I have a difficult issue here, just inherited an Exchange Server 2003 SP2
(on Windows Server 2003 Standard) where the network admin used to move the
transaction logs every couple of days instead of doing an online backup.
transaction logs are all there but they are on different drives (underany
different folders). I tried using the Exchange Module for Legato Networker
7.2 and tried to run a full backup on the Information Store but it did not
purge any transaction logs. It backed up the databases but does not purge
transaction logs. Right now I have more than 120GB of transaction logs andaccomodate
the size of the Storage databases is around 80GB.
I tried doing a NT backup but I do not have a drive big enough to
the 80GB of Information Store data. On running the eseutil /mk on thecheck
file all databases are in a clean shut down state and it also gives me theExchange
log file that needs to be present to restart the Information Store.
is working all right for now but I want to be able to start purging thelogs.
My question is should I enable Transaction logging or is there another way
to purge the logs?
TIA,
Abhi
