Test a couple of the problem domains manually. Do DNS lookups on their MX
records and connect to their servers using Telnet. Look in message tracking
at some of the emails and see if there is anything noteworthy there.

i've just looked at the logs and can really see anything out of the
ordinary
but i did look for a couple of the emails that delayed and i cant see
nothing
in the logs about them emails???

im new to the company where i work currently and when my users send a
at the moment alot of them are recieveing a Delivery Status
Notification
(Delay) email from the postmaster. The message contains:
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE.
Delivery to the following recipients has been delayed.
person@xxxxxxxxxxxx
i also get an attachment with the email, which is:
Reporting-MTA: dns;server.domain.COM
Final-Recipient: rfc822;person@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Action: delayed
Status: 4.4.7
Will-Retry-Until: Fri, 16 Jun 2006 17:23:55 +0100
X-Display-Name: person name.
Im just wondering if this could me a DNS issue? or and issue with the
config of exchange?
