Re: OWA logon screen

Hi

I have believe in have installed a CA on my Windows 2003 Server and i can
view the certificate under default web site.

When i view the certificate it says:-

All issuance policies
All application policies

It says

Issued to Servername
Issued by Servername

you have a private key that corresponds to this certificate.

I presume this is setup ok?

Hi,

so do you install a CA in your org or on your server?
did you produce a SSL Request from Default Web Site / Exchange Web Site (in
IIS6)

Kind Regards,

It was error 440 login timeout, but this is now sorted i just reset
IUSR_server and IWAM_server passwords.

I just have to get SSL working now.

Do you actually get the blue login screen? Do you see the 440 error
after
typing your credentials into that?

Hi Lee

Well i think we've made some sort of headway. When i type
server/exchange
it
forwards my url to
http://server/exchweb/bin/auth/owalogon.asp?url=http://server/exchange&reason=0
which is what a colleagues OWA does, but i get Login timeout 440. I
have
closed all browser windows and re-opened them and also restarted IIS
and
Exchange admin. Any further ideas??

There is a registry key (only to be used for testing, of course),
that
will
allow you to use FBA without requiring https - that will at least let
you
know if the FBA bits are working okay. Do a search for
AllowRetailHTTPAuth
here:

It does sound like there's a problem with the cert.

Hi Lee

Is there anyway to check to see if the SSl is working correctly,
cause
when
i have it enabled as you specified and i goto
https://servername/exchange
i
get the message 'page cannot be displayed'. When i type
http://servername/exchange it says 'The page must be viewed over a
secure
channel' so i can only presume this is good. Whats the next step?
This
is
very frustrating as i spent most of yesterday trying to get this to
work!!!

It sounds okay. FBA requires SSL (otherwise your FBA checkbox is
ignored),
so make sure that the Require SSL checkbox for the Exchange VDir
(in
IIS
Manager) is also checked.

Hi Lee

I have a certificate enabled within the server and i can click
on
the
edit
button under default web site, properties, so i presume the
certificate
is
ok.

When i view the certificate it says:-

All issuance policies
All application policies

Is this ok??

Do you also have SSL required on your Exchange Virtual

in

Hi

when i type http://servername/exchange i get the normal
windows
based
authentication screen, i type in my username & password
and
can
look
at my
e-mails fine.

If i type in
http://servername/exchweb/bin/auth/owalogon.asp? i
get
the OWA
logon screen and can signon and get my e-mails again no
problem.
My
friend
says that when he types in http://servername/exchange if
forwards to
http://servername/exchweb/bin/auth/owalogon.asp? and
shows
him
the
OWA
authentication screen but mine doesn't do that, the url
just
stays
on
http://servername/exchange. Why is mine not redirecting
to
the
correct url,
cause i think this will solve my problems??

Simon

Have you enabled Forms-based Authentication in Exchange
System
Manager?

Lee.
