Authenticated Users Can't Relay SMTP

Hey All,
I have a outside employee on Oulook hooked up through POP3/SMTP. The
POP3 part works fine but sending emails gets bounced with "550 5.7.1
Unable to relay for user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" Emails sent to AD users
work fine, but then again there's no relaying involved in that
scenario.
Firewall is setup fine. I did the telnet test to port 25 from an
external machine. Also, I can relay messages if I" Allow all computers
except list below" in relay restrictions but that's not an option I can
live with.
The setup for the Default SMTP Virtual Server in ESM is as follows:
Authentication:
(X)Anonymous
( )Resolve anonymous
(X)Basic auth.
( )Requires TLS
Default domain: externalDomain.com
(X)Integrated Windows Auth.
Grant or Deny...
Certificated: None configured
Connection: (X) All except the list below (list is empty)
Relay Restrictions:
(X) Only The List Below (list is Empty)
( ) Allow all Except List Below
(X ) Allow all computers which successfully authenticate....
Grant or Deny... set to the same two user groups as indicated above.
I've Googled around and found a few threads inquiring about this
problem but they always end abruptly and never with an answer that
works. Help!
Thanks!
.
