Is the existing exchange installation affected by a domain name change?
Oh, yeah. Especially if you're asking about the AD Domain.
I have an existing domain (domain1.com) and the correct namespace should be
domain.com.
The exchange server in the domain isnt installed yet.
Good. Keep it that way.
Can I install exchange
and then change the domain name by using the rename tool?
Why tempt fate? Don't complicate things any more than you have to.
Will it affect the
installation?
No, not at all. But it does have the potential to break things
afterwards.
Or I should rename the domain first, and then install the
server?
Yes, this will make your life so much easier. :)
