Guys/Gals...
Over the weekend 4 of my 28 Exchange 2003 servers started exhibiting
the same behavior. The information store stop responding. Clients
cannot connect, and when you go to view the stoe in ESM, it says the
Infor Store service is not running or cannot be contacted.
When looking at the service, it is running, and the store.exe process
is also running and has sporadic CPU activity, which means it should be
working.
Upon attempting to stop the service, it hangs and says it did not stop
in a timely fashion. The only way to get the service to stop is to end
the store.exe process.
Once restarted it works fine for anywhere from 30 mins to 5 hours, then
it stops responding again. This is happening to 4 different servers in
my Org. Nothing has changed AD-wise, nothing has changed for Exchange.
I spent 4 hours on the phone with PSS ($245 later) and they had me
install Windows 2003 SP1 and Exchange 2003 SP2. It did not fix the
problem.
Call them back and re-open the ticket.
Im wondering if anyone has had this problem, and if so, what was YOUR
fix?
One thing I want to try is to uninstall AntiGen 8.0, but the last thing
I want is a huge virus outbreak. Do you guys think AntiGen could be to
blame? Maybe a bad DAT was automatically loaded and causing this?
Could be.
.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
Thanks
Greg
